A German logistics company came to us wanting to finally structure their on- and offboarding process. Until then: informal emails, inconsistent standards, no traceable process.
The IT team was small, the workforce large. Every onboarding case ran differently. Groups were copy-pasted from template users – without checking whether all permissions were actually needed.
We used the au2mator Self-Service Portal as a central frontend. The onboarding form first requests a ticket ID – which is linked directly to Freshdesk. Then a template user is selected, and the system shows that user’s groups for selective assignment. No more blind copying. After confirmation, automation kicks in: create AD account, Azure sync, assign license, provision mailbox, activate Veeam Backup.
Every onboarding case is traceable and tied to a ticket. Permissions are granted deliberately. IT saves time, quality improves.
