Azure Guest User Delegation: Taking the Load Off IT

A company with 3,500 employees was receiving multiple Azure Guest User requests every day. Every one of them landed with IT. That doesn’t scale.

The Challenge

Inviting guest users was an IT task – even though IT doesn’t know which external people should be invited. The business units do. IT was a middleman without adding value.

The Solution

We delivered a working POC in a single day. The au2mator Self-Service Portal lets business units invite guest users themselves. In the background: Azure Automation and the Microsoft Graph API. An optional approval step can be included – for example by a manager or a security owner. IT is only responsible for operations.

The Result

IT effort drastically reduced. Business units can act independently. Guest user invitations run faster and more structured.
