Machine Manufacturer – AD and Entra ID Group Sync to ServiceNow

Challenge

In preparation for an Identity Management system in ServiceNow, all groups, memberships, and managers needed to be synchronized from two different sources: Active Directory (one owner per group) and Entra ID (multiple owners possible). The differing data structures from both systems had to be combined and kept up to date.

Solution

Azure Automation regularly synchronizes all groups with their members and managers from Active Directory and Entra ID into ServiceNow. Both data sources are merged into a single consistent dataset. Despite approximately 40,000 to 50,000 records, the complete sync runs in under two minutes.
